Since situations with temperatures ranging from cryogenic to 1800°F can exist, Inconel 625 wire mesh maintains exceptional strength and toughness. Alloy 625 wire mesh has exceptional resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, chloride stress-corrosion cracking, and a wide range of inorganic and organic chemicals because of its high nickel content (61%). The high chromium (21.5 percent) concentration in Inconel 625 wire mesh makes it more resistant to oxidizing environments as compared to pure Nickel 200 and Nickel 201. Some features of alloy 625 wire mesh that limit utilization include:

  • Alloy 625 wire mesh is excellent for use in hydrochloric acid and is excellent for use against caustics, nitric acid, and sulphuric acid.
  • It retains high strength and toughness in temperatures ranging from cryogenic to 1800°F. It is non-magnetic in all conditions.
  •  Excellent for use in combating commercial phosphoric acid and commercial chloride stress corrosion cracking, pitting, and crevice corrosion.
